THE STORY Follow the epic tale of Theoderich von Akenburg, a former crusader knight disillusioned by the cruelties of war. Fifteen years after a pivotal event, he is called back into action. Together with Ulrich von Grevel, his former brother-in-arms, Theoderich discovered a fragment of the ancient Rod of Aaron. A young monk named Malcom arrives at Theoderich’s doorstep, revealing that the rod holds powers never intended for mortals. Obsessed with reassembling the artifact, Ulrich is determined to find the remaining pieces, a feat that could unleash unspeakable evil upon the world. To thwart Ulrich, Theoderich embarks on a perilous journey across Europe and the Middle East to secure the relics. His path crosses with various warriors, including the veteran Reinhard von Kempten of the Teutonic Order and the ambitious young mercenary Grimhild Eidottr and her Raven Company. Each hero joins for different reasons, gradually forming unbreakable bonds as they face upcoming trials and tribulations.
GAMEPLAY Engage in squad-based RTS with diverse units, ranging from tanky swordsmen to agile cavalry. Select hero squads and auxiliary units across 15 handcrafted, single-player missions featuring custom cinematics, narrated journals, and adjustable difficulty levels. Choose from over five hero squads, each offering three unique skill trees that provide passive and active skills for leveling up. Equip a wide variety of weapons and armors, each with distinct stats and special abilities, allowing for countless hero builds. Team up in the 3-player "Last Man Standing" mode, battling hordes of enemies to earn experience, level up knights, unlock new skills, and gain cosmetics. Compete in various PvP modes supporting 1v1 and 2v2 battles, featuring cosmetic meta-progression and special rewards for ranked play.

The Valiant is a decent enough game. It most likely won't amaze you, especially if you've played other small-scale RTS games before, but its campaign is the right amount . And if you've liked Dawn of War 2 in the past, you'll feel right at home.
